I’m Elisabeth, a wife and mother of three. My journey through Hurricane Helene inspired me to share my story of survival and faith.
In September 2024, my story went viral after surviving Hurricane Helene with my 7-week-old infant, husband and two pups. Since then, I've made it my mission to help women prepare for life's storms-emotionally, spiritually and financially. We were rescued from the roof of our car during Hurricane Helene’s catastrophic flooding in Atlanta. I had just returned from maternity leave. Our newborn was strapped to my chest. We climbed out through the sunroof, carrying our dogs in our arms and praying that help would come.
It did. And that moment changed everything.
I wrote When the Waters Rose: What I Carried, What I Lost, and What I Found to tell the full story: the trauma, the grace, and the long road of recovery. It’s about what we lost and what we found in the aftermath—faith, financial resilience, motherhood, PTSD, community, and an unshakable sense of purpose.
By day, I lead a private banking team in Buckhead. By night, I wrote this book on my iPhone between nursing sessions, FEMA phone calls, and flood recovery chaos. This isn’t just my story—it’s for any woman who’s ever walked through the unthinkable and wondered if they’d make it out.
I’m so glad you’re here. Welcome to The Elisabeth Edit—where real life meets real hope.
